Dagger Project
For this project I am to make a dagger for a proposed King Arthur show. It’s set loosely in 6th century Britain and Arthur has a dagger that cloaks him in shadow.
My design will be made twice, one in steel and the other in resin (costume prop)
My initial design was focused on trying to lean historically accurate but I was struggling to be imaginative.

St Winifred Dagger
I have been inspired by religious iconography since I was a kid. I can point to the golden Russian icons collections when visiting the Jordan Schnitzer museum.
After seeing a mini of a previous students 3D scan and looking up 6th century Welsh saints I found St. Winifred and thought her story of being beheaded was perfect for a dagger if not a little literal and rude.
I visited Italy in April of 2024 and had taken photos of many statues, much of the inspiration came from their shapes.
